By 2025, Indian Oil will have electric car charging at tens of thousands of petrol pumps.

The center is pushing to increase the use of electric vehicles to reduce pollution as well as the cost of oil imports. The state-owned oil company Indian Oil (IOCL) has already announced plans to build at least 10,000 charging stations across the country over the next three years to charge batteries for such vehicles.

This time they announced to open more than 1 thousand EV charging stations across the country. V Satish Kumar, Marketing Director, Indian Oil, said, “In three years, we will build the infrastructure to charge electric vehicles at 10,000 petrol pumps. It will encourage companies to increase production of electric vehicles, just as users will be able to drive with ease. ”

The company also said it aims to increase the number of charging stations in Pune fivefold by the end of the 2021-22 financial year. Indian Oil currently has three electric vehicle charging stations in the suburbs of Pune.
